During the sessions, students will have the opportunity to learn about the everyday social, economic and cultural realities of Barcelona in a practical manner. The topics covered in these sessions will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of life in Barcelona. Each session will focus on relevant communication functions and language elements specific to the topic at hand. Texts and audiovisual material will be used to enhance oral expression in the classroom.

• Spanish and Latin-American cuisine. Eating tapas

o Ask for and give information about Spanish and Latin-American dishes.  

o Ask for and give information about a dish. Order food.  

o Say the names of objects and foods in a restaurant, bar or cafeteria.  

• Popular festivals and holidays  

o Communication objectives  

o Ask for and give information about public festivals and holidays.  

o Discuss which festival/holiday is more/less important.  

• Neighborhoods of Barcelona

o Locate streets, local shops, shopping centers, etc.  

o Ask for and give directions.  

o Ask for and offer help or ask about a specific place.
